Hey Everyone!

Hot off the Client Interviewing final, entries to the Minter Ellison Rudd Watts Witness Examination Competition opens this Monday 8th April at 9 am, and close on Wednesday 20th April at 5 pm. This is the first time this Competition is being held at AUT and as such many of you may not be aware of what this competition entails – so, I’ve linked the website below as it provides a number of resources that you will find helpful:

1. Information for competitors and witnesses;
2. An example fact pattern;
3. A video of the 2012 NZLSA competition final; and
4. Video tutorials and demonstrations from Minter Ellison partners themselves.

For those of you interested in advocacy and litigation, this competition will provide you with a great platform to see what it feels like. Please note each competitor must provide for their own witness – so when filling out entry forms don’t forget to fill in their details!

The Dates are – 16th April for Prelims, 17th April for Semis, and 18th April for the finals.

The Finals last night were spectacular and the finalists very very close. 

The Judges were very impressed with both our finalist teams.

Massive congratulations go to Katherine Tetzlaff and Christine James for winning the 2013 AUT in-house Russell McVeagh Client Interviewing Competition! 

Thank you also to all those who came out to support our teams. As our winners, Katherine and Christine will be representing AUT at the ALSA conference (this year to be held in Perth) and also the NZLSA Conference. Well done!

The Client Interviewing Competition Finals are being held on the 4th of April at WY level 5 at 5.30 pm. Come and support our finalists –  this is a great opportunity to see our best teams perform and learn from them!

We’ve also booked a bar downtown and will be subsidising drinks and catering for a Client Interviewing Final ‘After Party’ so it’d be great to see you all there!
